About D2 Dental

Lara has been a dental assistant for the past 9 years. She is passionate about helping people feel confident in their smiles. She speaks multiple languages such as Portugues, being her first language, and English being her second. Being bilingual has helped her connect with people from different backgrounds and create a welcoming experience for every patient. She is all about positive vibes, great patient care, and making people feel comfortable from the moment they walk in. 

Outside of work, she loves staying active with running, workouts and spending time with her mini Goldendoodle name Brooklyn, who keeps life fun and full of energy. 

Leslie joined our team in January initially helping support the office on Fridays and Saturdays, and as of May 1st, she proudly stepped into the role of office manager. For the past 20 years, she has dedicated her career to helping people feel comfortable, cared for, and confident through dentistry. Her experience includes both dental assisting and office management, which has allowed her to build strong relationships with patients while also helping practices run smoothly behind the scenes.

She truly enjoys connecting with people, supporting her team, and creating a positive environment where patients feel welcomed and valued. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, staying active through fitness (why she became a fitness trainer),dancing,trying out new foods and traveling whenever she has the opportunity. These experiences help keep her motivated, balanced, and energized both personally and professionally.

Carolena is a dedicated healthcare professional with 12 years of experience in the dental field and 10 years of commitment as a patient coordinator at her current job. She has built a reputation for helping patients feel comfortable, supported, and cared for throughout their experiences.

Outside of work, Carolena is a proud mother of two children and a loving cat owner to two playful cats who keep life entertaining. She is also celebrating an exciting accomplishment as she graduates with her bachelor’s degree in public health, reflecting her passion for growth and community wellness. Balancing family, career, and education has strengthened her resilience, compassion, and ability to thrive in busy environments. Carolena is excited to continue growing in the dental field while making a positive impact on patient care and experience at D2 Dental.

Jenny grew up in Malden, and was a patient at D2 Dental before she joined the team in 2020 as our schedule coordinator.

Outside of work, she is a musician, which keeps her inspired and creative. She is proud to be part of a team that values patient-centered care, and is always eager to support each person’s unique needs.

Erick is a dental hygienist who has served the D2 Dental team for over a year with a steadfast commitment to high-quality patient care. Through his focus on patient education and compassionate service, he creates a welcoming and supportive clinical environment. Raised in Malden and a graduate of Malden High School, Erick is deeply invested in the health and well-being of his local community. He continues to pursue professional growth to provide the best possible care and education to every patient he treats.  

Maria is a graduate from MCPHS University where she has received a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. She grew to love the hygiene field in school where she worked with many dental professionals and institutions. Maria always strives to create a positive and comfortable environment for all of her patients. Outside of dentistry, Maria loves to spend time with her family and friends, and one day hopes to get the opportunity to travel the world.

Gordana’s dental career began in 2007. She worked as a dental assistant where she was introduced to the dental hygienist field. She attended Bunker Hill Community College and graduated with an Associates Degree of science.She then attended the University of Massachusetts Boston where she graduated with honors’ obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree in Management and Information Systems. Gordana then worked in the financial industry for several years prior to returning to school and graduating from Middlesex Community College’s of Dental Hygiene program with honors. She is committed to giving her best effort and making a positive difference in both her own life and the lives of those around her. Her hope is to obtain a Master’s degree and teach one day. Outside of work, Gordana enjoys spending time with her children and attending their activities.

Allison Leader, is a Massachusetts-based registered dental hygienist and public health advocate. After earning her B.S. in Biology from UMass Lowell, she completed her dental hygiene and Master of Public Health degrees at MCPHS. Following her family’s passion for dental advocacy, Allison actively presents on public health topics like water fluoridation and oral care for autoimmune disorders, and is a proud stem cell donor through Be The Match. When she isn’t caring for smiles, Allison loves traveling, figure skating, and spending time with her pet guinea pigs, her husband, and their mini poodle, Kermit.

Fun Fact: The roots at D2 Dental run deep! Drs. Daria and David Hornung purchased the practice from Allison’s father, Dr. Leader, back in 2015. Today, Allison loves caring for long-time patients who have been with the practice so long, they actually knew her father before she was born!

Wincy is a compassionate dental hygienist who provides gentle care and focuses on patient comfort and education. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Dental Dental Hygiene from MCPHS and is a first-generation student. Wincy also speaks Mandarin and enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with friends and family.

Janice has been a Certified Dental Assistant for over 11 years, and is passionate about creating a positive, comfortable experience for every patient who walks through our doors. She is dedicated to helping patients feel at ease while providing exceptional care and support throughout their visit. Janice is committed to continuing education and regularly attends dental training courses to stay current with the latest advancements in dental health and patient care. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
